Unusual Handel / Unique Periwinkle Arts & Crafts Leaded Stained Glass Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very nice and unusual example of a Handel / Unique table lamp. It is sort of a hybrid between a slag glass panel lamp and a full blown periwinkle leaded lamp.
While the periwinkle floral design is fairly common, I have not seen very many of these hybrid versions. What is great about this one is the symmetry. There are 6 bent glass panels and 6 periwinkle leaded sections.... All sitting on a matching 6-petal base. In addition, the gold finish on the leading matches perfectly with the gold wash finish on the base. It is a full sized table lamp with a 18" diameter shade that stands 21" tall. The shade is old and original and not one of those newer signed "HANDEL" copies that seem to be. For your reference, the unsigned ones are much more likely to be period and. There are no cracks in the large panels or even in the. Periwinkle sections, and the shade has the nice rattle of a good old one.The base is is one of Handel's standard lotus leaf styles and. Is partially signed HANDEL on. It has its original Hubbell sockets and acorn pulls, and has been recently wired with period style cloth.
This is a nice and unusual example of a Handel/Unique lamp that is much less common than most out there. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea.
If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that's fine. For anyone of you out there that buys or sells these, you know that if done correctly this amount won't actually cover it.
