Unusual Handel / Unique Periwinkle Arts & Crafts Leaded Stained Glass Lamp

  

Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very nice and really unusual example of a Handel / Unique table lamp. I say unusual for two reasons. First the 4-petal flowers are quite a bit different from their typical smaller periwinkle ones. Second, and this is the most unusual part, there are tiny holes throughout the shade.

I have only ever seen one other shade done this way and it is on purpose..... Presumably to make it sparkle more. Its a very cool effect that I have not seen any other maker use. I will let my pictures do the rest of the talking and from them you can see how wonderful the colors and flowers all go together in this shade. This is a full sized table lamp with a 16" diameter shade that stands 23" tall. The shade is old and original and not one of those newer signed "HANDEL" copies that seem to be. For your reference, the unsigned ones are much more likely to be period and.

The base is is one of Handel's very nice chipped ice themed finished ones. They did this with their reverse painted shades, but also made some of their bases with this effect. It gives it almost a leather like feel.

This base is not signed, but it is 100% guaranteed to be Handel. It has its original Hubbell sockets and ball pulls, and has been recently wired with period style cloth. This is a nice and unusual example of a Handel/Unique lamp that is much less common than most out there. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that's fine.
